Amara Communications Co., Ltd. (ACS) was established in Myanmar in 2011 to tap into the country’s rapidly developing telecom market. ACS’s main business consists of constructing mobile infrastructure, reselling mobile connections, and selling mobile E top-up and top-up cards. Throughout the industry, ACS is recognized as a leading turnkey solution provider, with expertise at each stage of the telecommunications operation process. ACS’s engineering scope covers five major areas – civil work, tower, power, radio equipment installation, and operation maintenance.
ACS is also a major production and distribution partner of top-up for Myanmar Post and Telecommunication (MPT), the national telco and leading provider in the country. Additionally, ACS works with a range of reputable business partners, including MPT, Yatanarpon Teleport, Ooredoo, Telenor, Huawei, Ericsson, and ZTE.

Another business line includes the production of GSM, CDMA–800, and CDMA–450 top-up cards as well as distribution of top-up cards, E top-up for MPT. Currently, ACS distribution networks operate in three regions – Yangon North, Bago East, and Tanintharyi – and cover 17 townships. With a strong sales force and extensive management expertise, the ACS team has built a network that covers over 6,000 points of sale and growing. In 2016, ACS was awarded MPT’s “Most Improved Distributor Award”.
ACS is planning to expand its business to become a wireless broadband internet service provider for the end-user market. In April 2016, ACS was chosen as a finalist to enter Myanmar’s first spectrum auction to be held in October 2016.
ACS has a permanent workforce of 150 staff members across six departments, including engineering, production, procurement & logistics, sales & marketing, administration, and finance. ACS also hires additional contract workers for individual projects on an as-needed basis. Internal training is offered twice a month to keep staff updated on technical standards. Additional skills training in areas such as IT, English language, and management, are also offered.
