United National Oil & Gas Co., Ltd. (UNOG) was established in 2012 as an oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) business as well as a petroleum services provider. In the E&P field, UNOG works with international partners to facilitate local projects, providing consulting services on local rules and regulations, local market conditions, and any other knowledge essential for conducting operations in Myanmar. In the services sector, UNOG provides assistance in areas such as drilling, seismic surveys, and onshore logistics and transportation, among others. UNOG is committed to safe, reliable, and cost effective work practices during execution of all operations, making it easy for its partners and investors to do business in Myanmar. Competent technical professionals lead UNOG exploration and development activities as well as related services to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective project outcomes.

Projects

Exploration & Production

UNOG acts as the local representative for international companies working in the E&P industry in Myanmar. UNOG has served as the local representative for the onshore blocks IOR-5 and IOR-7 in Ayeyarwady Division, which are operated by PETRONAS. In 2013, UNOG became the local representative for the onshore block EP-1 located in Magway Division, which is operated by Petroleum Brunei. UNOG also acts as the local representative and operator for Synergy Nation Oil & Gas (SNOG) of Singapore for a block in Kayin State.

Petroleum Services

In the service sector, UNOG has successfully and safely carried out EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning) projects together with international partners. These include work such as drilling, pipe laying, and seismic surveys. UNOG also provided onshore logistics, transportation, and related services for the MyanmarChina pipeline project.

Future Plans

UNOG plans to expand its business in the future from a sole focus on upstream projects in the oil and gas sector, to a full-service provider capable of upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. At the same time, UNOG hopes to work together with more international partners looking to invest in Myanmar.

Workforce

UNOG currently employs 50 full-time staff members across five departments, including technical operations, services, administration, finance, and human resources. UNOG also employs a number of contracted staff for projects on an as-needed basis. Staff members receive orientation and on-the-job skills training. English language classes are also offered to all staff.
