IGE Sharing Hands Foundation donates cash to help children


IGE Sharing Hands Foundation, founded by IGE group of companies with the aim of improving the prospects for future generations by supporting education initiatives and vocational training, donated MMK 500,000 to 320 children who participated in the contests: storytelling, poetry reading and singing.

Children from 40 Nursery Schools in Yangon under the Department of Social Welfare showed their talents in the contests which were held in commemoration of the 70th Union Day and 102nd  anniversary of Bogyoke Aung San’s birthday also known as  Children’s Day in Myanmar. The awarding ceremony was held on Myanmar Children’s Day at the No.1 Nursery School, Bahan Township and IGE foundation’s responsible person attended the event.

First, second, third and consolation prizes were given to the children who performed well in the respective competitions.  The children were treated to soy milk and bread as a nutritious meal. The posters in commemoration of the 70th Union Day and 102nd anniversary of Bogyoke Aung San’s birthday as well as the photos of the children’s school activities were also displayed at the ceremony.
