Deputy General Manager
Aung Thurein is responsible for the development of human resources across the IGE Group. He also leads its corporate sustainability function and one of the members of Transformation Management team which intend to change the group strategy in 2017. He has also ability to provide advice and strategic direction in all Human Resources and Organizational Development matters.
Aung Thurein joined IGE Group of Companies on 1 July 2011 and led the Human Resources Operation matters as a role of HR department head of MRT Co.,Ltd. From 2013 up to now, Aung Thurein took a role of Corporate Human Resources Department which was responsible in operationalizing manpower planning, training, designing of compensation packages, developing relevant policies, organizational development as well as conceptualizing the necessary HR support and services to the subsidiaries for over 1,500 personnel.
He has more than 10 years of extensive Human Resources experiences across varied industries such as FMCG, Professional Services sectors and Conglomerate business. He has delved into full suite of Human Resources, including Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits, Learning and Development and HR Analytical.
He started his career with a Training Coordinator at the IBTC Group of Companies, Human Resources Department. He then moved on to be part of a professional services company, Uniteam Offshore Solutions where he delivered coordination roles for safety and offshore training. He has also developed his expertise across roles in Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, having worked at IBTC Group and IGE Group of Companies.
Aung Thurein graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Meiktila University of Economics as well as a Master of Business Administration. He also holds Executive Diploma in Human Resources Management from RVi institute and Mini HR Organization Development certificate from Assumption University, Thailand.
